Lauren D. Loya, M.D. is originally from Greensburg, PA and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University Medical School. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She spent 10 years practicing Family Medicine, primarily as family medicine residency faculty. She served as the Associate Director of the family medicine program at St. Elizabeth hospital in Chicago, then as a faculty member at UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program.
She left UPMC in 2008 to start her own integrative and holistic medical practice, The Hormone Center. The mission of the practice is to combine traditional medicine with a more holistic method of treatment that strives to uncover the root cause of illness rather than just managing symptoms.
She is a Board Certified Family Physician and holds an additional board certification through the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM).
